The smooth surface of our ringspun cotton blends, such as those found in the Gildan Softstyle range, ensures that ink adheres well and designs remain crisp. For embroidery, the fabric blend provides enough stability to support intricate stitching without puckering. Many professional printers prefer heathered fabrics because the textured background can make certain ink colours pop, providing a high-end, retail-ready finish that is perfect for custom branding or promotional merchandise.

Our selection includes various heather blends to suit different needs. For instance, 'Sport Grey' often has a high cotton content (typically 90% cotton and 10% polyester), making it feel very similar to 100% cotton. Other 'Dark Heather' or vibrant heather colours may feature a 50/50 or 65/35 polyester-to-cotton ratio. These higher polyester blends are often lighter and have moisture-wicking properties, making them ideal for activewear or polo shirts. We also offer tri-blend options which include rayon for an exceptionally soft, vintage feel and drape.

To maintain the quality and appearance of your heathered apparel, we recommend washing them in cold or lukewarm water with similar colours. Because these garments often contain a blend of polyester and cotton, they are generally more resistant to shrinking than 100% cotton items. However, it is still best to tumble dry on a low heat setting or air dry to preserve the fibres and any custom prints or embroidery. Avoid using bleach, as it can damage the blended fibres and alter the unique heathered colour effect.
